The Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) is a Committee of Council which reviews applications for consent and provides recommendations and/or advice to Council on a range of other land use planning and severance related matters.

In effect, the PAC provides a forum within which members can review and discuss the merits or shortfalls of an application as submitted, prior to its final review and determination by Council (as the ‘planning authority’ for the Township of Bonfield).

Where a consent application has been deemed to be complete, a review period of at least 30 days takes place prior to the PAC meeting.

Where less complex planning applications are concerned, the 30-day timeframe is generally sufficient to allow processing of the application, the public consultation, and the preparation of a Planning Report.

Where more complex planning applications are concerned, including Plans of Subdivision, Zoning By-law amendments, and/or Official Plan amendments, the file(s) may take longer to process.

The PAC generally meets monthly, on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm. Please see attached a schedule which summarizes the estimated application processing timeframes, including pre-scheduled meeting dates, throughout the year.

All meetings of the PAC are potentially subject to change; in which case, extra notification will be provided on the Township’s website for reference.
