The Township’s current Fire Rating as of Monday August 25 is Moderate. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, Current Fire Rating page. The Fire Rating is also posted on the signs located at both Fire Station #1 (107 Railway Street) and Fire Station #2 (440 Rutherglen Line).

Public Works staff will be working on Line 3 Friday August 22, to complete the necessary culvert replacements and installations following the ditching completed last year. 

With the recent hot weather, it’s important to know how to protect yourself and your loved ones. Emergency Management Ontario has put together a helpful video full of tips and advice on staying safe during extreme heat.

To help control the dust, roads will receive another round of calcium. Weather permitting, application is tentatively set for Wednesday July 23rd to Friday July 25th.

Great news! The Township’s fire rating has been lowered to Moderate.

If you currently have a trailer on a vacant waterfront property in the Township, don’t forget—you have until July 4, 2025 to submit a trailer licence application to be part of the six-year phase-out program for non-conforming trailers.
