Pay Your Tax Bill

Payment must be received by the Township’s office on or before the due date to avoid late fees. You can choose from several payment methods:

  • By cash, debit or cheque.
  • By credit card – note a 1.5% surcharge is added to cover processing costs.
  • Using post-dated cheques – you can drop these off at the counter or in the secure drop box.

The Township offers a program to automatically withdraw tax payments from your bank account:

  • Cheques can be made out to the Township of Bonfield and mailed to the Township Office at 365 Highway 531, Bonfield ON P0H 1E0

  • Add the Township of Bonfield as a payee.
  • Note: It can take up to 3 business days for your payment to reach the Township, so submit early to ensure it’s on time.
  • This payment method excludes Royal Bank and TD Bank customers.

  • Pay online using a credit or debit card through PaySimply
  • Surcharges apply to cover fees charged by the processing company.

  • If your mortgage holder pays your taxes for you, they must ensure payment is made on time.
  • Tax bills are sent to mortgage companies that request them, but you are still ultimately responsible.
