In accordance with the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, all municipalities in Ontario are required to have an Emergency Response Plan.

The Township of Bonfield is committed to protecting the safety and well-being of our residents. Our Emergency Management Team is trained to respond effectively and works closely with community partners and neighbouring municipalities to protect lives, property, and the environment during emergency situations.

Major emergencies can happen at any time. While our team is prepared to provide emergency support, it’s also important for residents to take simple steps to be ready.

The best defence in an emergency is being informed and prepared.

In an emergency call 9-1-1. 

For issues involving downed trees, blocked culverts, obstructed roads, or other local concerns, please contact the Public Works Department at 705-776-2659. Any calls made after hours will be forwarded to our on-call answering service to ensure that after-hours matters are promptly addressed. 

During a large-scale emergency community officials expect residents to be self-sufficient for a 72-hour period. Most emergencies can be mitigated to a reasonable manner in this time frame so that the community resources can be directed to those in the community who most need the assistance.
