Centennial Park Tree Removal (Updated August 18)

Update (August 18): Public Works staff have removed the fallen tree; however, wasps are still present within the remaining stump. For safety reasons, the area has been coned off and will remain closed until further notice. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding while staff continue to monitor the situation.

Update (August 15): The contractor has completed the tree removal at Centennial Park. There is some base wood still present and Public Works will be back to clean the remainder of the wood with the backhoe shortly. The park is now open but please use caution around the tree as there is a bee hive present. It has been sprayed multiple times.

Centennial Park will be closed from 10am until 1pm for a tree removal on Friday August 15. A willow tree next to the picnic shelter poses risk to park users & will be removed. Public works staff & Contractor will be on scene to conduct the removal. Thank you for your understanding.
